On Friday, Laura and I attended Fashionista Events ShopLate at the Studio at Park in Newstead. This is the third ShopLate in a series of many more to come giving local designers and international labels exposure to those Brissy lovers of shopping.
This event made for a great night out with live music from Phoenix in the background while people shopped and chatted with the designers. There was even a food van with modern asian cuisine.
Fashionista Events Natalie D’Alessandro wearing Meredith McMaster Millinery head piece.
This head piece here was definitely one of my favourites. So much so, you’ll see me wearing it in my piece to camera.
Kristy from Lipoa Threads hand made these necklaces using Glass beads. You may remember from my previous post me meeting Kristy last week at the Passion Fashion Event at the GPO.
One thing Laura and I love when chatting with the designers and workers from the stores is finding out the story behind each of the brands. Courtney from Sistaco told us how Yolanda, owner of Sistaco does not make any profit from the sale of her jewellry. Instead she gives this to charity Awaken Mozambique supporting women in third world countries. This piece has been hand stitched. From a distance the beading looks like Indigenous artwork.
The Sistaco jewellery pieces ranges from $35 to $75.
I totally loved this little yellow number from Natalie Wear. One thing we definitely don’t need to wear in Brisbane is too much black and this piece is eye-catching.
We spoke with Kate, owner from recently launched online store Style Cult and had a close up look at her accessories.
If you know me well, one of my favourite clothing pieces to wear is high waist shorts. How cool is this print! Sold by La Quell Fashion House.
Laura and I had a good chat with Michael, owner of Avoir Luxury about some of his pieces and the $ value and story behind them.Jade and rolled gold $295 from New York
Lion necklace $250 also from New York. This looks like a sturdy piece of bling you’d see a rapper wearing in a video clip.
Love, love these Salvatore Ferragamo metallic shoes with the fur detail. These would be perfect coming into winter.
Such a sweet little bow. As the tag indicates this was from the 60s.
These earrings look as though they’ve never been worn. Originals from the 80’s for only $20!
Check out the video we put together for ShopLate, featuring a track from Phoenix. Thanks Daryl!
