Meet Patrick Mackenzie…
Name: Patrick Mackenzie
Occupation: Fashion Student at MSIT
Role at MBFF: Front/back of house volunteer crew
Why did you decide to volunteer? I decided to volunteer for MBFF to gain experience in a fast paced environment while getting the opportunity to network with some of Brisbane’s high end fashion designers / models.
The best thing about volunteering is… I have gained an invaluable insight into the real world of fashion. Volunteering for MBFF was both exciting and only re-enforces my commitment and passion for this industry.
In future I would like to… Design and produce my own label. To me, fashion is the ultimate artistic expression of individual style; it is a way of representing your inner and outer self. I am very passionate about this expressive art form and have been since an early age.

I plan to get there by…. Continuing to study and acquire knowledge of this industry. I am currently gaining experience though internships with well-known Brisbane based labels. Through this work I am establishing a network within the local fashion industry which will help me develop a platform for running my own business in the future.
We wish Patrick all the best of luck in the future and have no doubts we will run into him again dedicating his time to the industry.
