For a label that launched only in 2003, PushBUTTON for my second year viewing blew my socks off or should I say the heels that I was wearing off.
It was 2.30pm on Monday 20th October and nothing could have prepared me more for the adventurous 30 minutes I would spend at designer Park Seung Gun’s Spring Summer 2015 Seoul Fashion Week show.
This was without a doubt one of the hardest shows to get into despite having a press pass and having been to nearly every show on the Seoul Fashion Week schedule so far. The press pit for PushBUTTON was insane. I could not find one single spot to stand and take photos.
I literally thank god that I was wearing heels that day because it gave me the extra height so that my camera could fit either side between other photographers arms and elbows. It’s the reason my shots have a natural vignette look.
Anyway peering through this, you will see some of my favourite unique and clever designs from Park’s “Love, very much” collection.
As he put it on instagram, there’s #check vs #mosaic prints, a collaboration with some of the models wearing Gentle Monster eyewear, “very much” text on shoes and use of his famous leopard print in blue.
The best part for my eyes watching this show was the classic lady like dress in baby pink – my favorite color. I also loved the use of orange and black and white prints on the blouses and matching bags, a very fresh take for spring and summer.
The concept for this collection was meant to be a modern take on Frida Kahlo, a painter best to known for self portraits and Mexican inspired culture.
