Never failing to disappoint the crowd at Seoul Fashion Week was designer Lie Sang Bong.
His Spring Summer 2015 collection presented a theme of ‘hope’. It was very lady like and colorfully artistic but also quiet bold I thought, which was a nice balance considering his use of butterflies.
We all eagerly waited to be let in through the doors of Lie’s show to see what he had planned for his catwalk. Last Spring Summer he decked the entire runway out in greenery.
Sometimes with a media pass the volunteers and security let you through and sometimes for big shows like this, it seemed the crowds and hype of the event were even almost too much for the crew to fathom, so they left you waiting outside with the rest of the crowd.
Anyway we finally got in and were welcomed to a huge shiny butterfly tiled catwalk that looked absolutely breathtaking. How on earth did his design team manage to go to so much effort was beside me.
The clothing itself was true to Lie’s style and featured structurally designed silhouettes for mainly woman in a fresh new artistic pattern, again different to his last season. Blue eye-shadow seemed to be the thing for make up even for the male models and the girls wore their hair in low back plaits.
This man is a genius.
