James Street and Marie Claire put on the best event worth staying “up late” for.
For a while I’ve been meaning to get along to each of these events but for some reason have never made it.
I’m glad to say Thursday night I finally did and boy it was worth it. I got there at 6pm to line up among hundreds of other stylish ladies from around Brisbane so I could secure a Marie Claire goodie bag. I’m never usually into freebies, however I was interested to see what was in the bag haha.
Many ladies patiently waiting in their heels and were soon greeted on stage by Jackie Frank, the ex editor of Marie Claire Australia for 20 years and now group publisher of fashion and health titles Pacific Magazines. Jackie welcomed onto the stage many Australian fashion designers, including Lisa Gorman, Lorna Jane, Gail Sorrenda and Ingrid Verner.
Starstruck! So incredibly lucky to meet Jackie Frank, while shopping in Scanlan Theodore.
My friends and I.
Overall, I thought the event was really well put on. I go to a lot of fashion events and shows in Brisbane where I never see this many ladies and support. Maybe it’s the brand Marie Claire that drew the crowds in, or maybe it was just because James Street is so well known for its class. Either way good on you ladies (and men) of Brisbane for coming out and supporting fashion!
