On Sunday 30th August I hosted my first Brisbane bloggers and fashion industry contacts brunch.
A big thank you to the more than 60 attendees who came and made the day so special, including bloggers and photographers, designers, fashion students, hair and make up artists, stylists and more!
A special thanks goes to Marsha, Stacey, Benice and Rhonda from Suited to Success who helped to make this event possible in the lead up to and on the day.
Suited to Success offers business clothing and job search support to disadvantage men and women in South East Queensland and is a proud partner of this event.
I had the idea to involve Suited to Success as a way to personally be able to part with my good quality clothes and to give them to an even better and deserving home. I know fellow fashion bloggers also struggle with an overload of clothes and so donating them was a fantastic way to for them to be able to help others.
I also wanted to collaborate because I feel as though appreciating fashion and blogging just isn’t enough for me. With everything I do, I want there to be an opportunity to have style and substance.
I would like to thank the lovely Carly from Dirie Dirie Me Art for her amazing illustration work (below) used as the official event poster and invite.
A thanks also goes to Carly from Fashion Hub Queensland for her help with supporting and promoting this event to engage even more bloggers to attend.
Stacey from Suited to Success presenting to our group.
And that’s a wrap, most of our group photographed up on the deck at Watt Brisbane.
Please now enjoy this video to summarise our wonderful morning out together, featuring the lovely Stacey from Suited to Success.
After the event some attendees and I continued onto the new Eleven Rooftop bar in Fortitude Valley. It was the perfect way to end an already lovely day with beautiful talented Brisbane people.
#BneStyleUnite is the third Fashion Bloggers and Industry Contacts brunch that I have hosted. The first was in Vancouver in September 2014 and the second in Melbourne in March 2015. I have plans to host a brunch in Sydney in line with the Sydney Fashion Festival and to expand these events during my international fashion trip to Europe in 2016.
If you would like to find out more and how you can become involved, please get in contact.
A big thank you again to everyone who supports my vision to bring likeminded people passionate about fashion together and through the power of it most importantly help to make a positive change the world around us.
