I may have only been in Stockholm for one jammed packed day of Fashion Week, but the shows I got to see and people I met were enough to leave me wanting to stay and now go back for more.
I made my way to the Moderna Museet art museum to see to see two shows. The last for the evening was by Swedish based designer Diana Orving.
Diana is a womenswear designer and has been sharing her talents with the world since 2000. I was lucky to have the chance to chat with Diana after her Spring Summer 2017 show to find out about her amazing new collection and also how she prepared the show in collaboration with choreographer Alexander Ekman and dancers from Stockholm59ºNorth.
Alexander Ekman worked on the production of A Swan Lake in Sweden.
As a photographer, this was one of the best fashion shows I’ve even seen. The reaction at the end on everyone’s faces also shows the disbelief attendees were in of the amazing show presented before their eyes.
This show features the most number of dancers she has worked with when presenting her runway shows, and she has described it as ‘the best one yet’.
Diana said she tends not to work with flat sketches and prefers designing three dimensionally with her creations from the beginning.
The collection is available online for purchase and from a store in Stockholm and other stores throughout Sweden.
