Life is what you make of it and I always try to do my best with my time and energy to ensure I give to others.
Last Friday, just only a few weeks new to Sydney and into my new job – I kindly asked if I could have the morning off to help volunteer for a cause very cause close to me.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) was hosting it’s second Bridge to 2030 event aimed at bringing groups within the community together to raise funds for breast cancer research and help spread the message of b.c. awareness.
This event gave me my very first chance to experience the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb and what an experience it was! I had the privilege of volunteering my time to capture the experience of groups within the community involved in the climb who are directly and indirectly impacted by b.c.
As we each put our bridge climb suits on you couldn’t even tell from the outside the internal struggle many of them, including myself have been through. I heard some of the personal stories that many have been through and their strength to overcome the battles by doing this climb to raise money to beat this bitch.
I am so lucky that I got to help photograph around more than 100 people who helped raise more than $100,000 for the NBCF.
I am inspired by you all.
